Shelley™ LT Script

"The Shelley font family was designed by Matthew Carter for Linotype in 1972.
The three Shelley script faces have identical lowercase letters, with the design variation in the capitals.
Shelley is a formal script design that can bring elegance to invitations, diplomas, or greeting cards, as well as display applications such as packaging or advertising.
Shelley™ is a trademark of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG, which may be registered in certain jurisdictions, exclusively licensed through Linotype Library GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG. " (font-online,2007)

Cochin Font.

"Cochin - This is a nice looking typeface originally designed by Georges Peignot in 1913. Peignot based the font on eighteenth century copper engravings done by Nicolas Cochin, then Charles Malin went on to cut the font. Cochin is a wide and large typeface that enjoyed great popularity in the early 20th century. Matthew Carter went on to expand and improve this font in 1977. Cochin has many stylistic nuances and is classified as part of the Neorenaissance movement in typography."(Urban font,2007)

Gradient in Photoshop.

Helios and "Sun Symbol".

Trying to make a new looking for “Sun” is what all I and all my classmates are required to do in the first week as a little art-brainstorming homework.

First of all, let have a look at some pictures about Sun in people mind.
http://solar-center.stanford.edu/folklore/symbolism.html

The Sun Icon.

The Winged Eyes.

The Solar Cross.

The Zia Symbol.

Four simple pictures above just give out the general look about the sun. Each of them takes one features inside and outside of the sun and then, desribe it on the simpliest way.

In order to get more details about all what they means deeply, you can visit this link:http://solar-center.stanford.edu/folklore/symbolism.html

To me,the light of Power when seeing the sun is the most interesting. So,in my graphic symbol,I make the strong light around the sun.

After searching the homework "Sun Symbol", i got some information about Helios-the Titan god of Sun.In fact, he is the status for the beauty and power which are also two main elements should be included in a "Sun symbol".
http://www.theoi.com/Titan/Helios.html

If you use the key word "Helios" for searching any image about this God,you can recoginize that he always used four hourses with wings as his transportation.

Based on this fiction, i want my "Sun symbol" is curved by 2 wings, one is above from right to left and the other one make the opposite.
